Swap Sims - 4S and iPad 3?

I'm in the USA with AT&T as my carrier, I have an iPad 3 with an unlimited 4G LTE plan as well as an iPhone 4S with a seperate unlimited HSPA+ plan.

I was thinking about getting a SGS3 but also switching to Verizon at the same time because AT&T sucks in my area. If a do that and still wanted to occasionally use the iPhone, can I pull the sim from my iPad 3 and use it in my iPhone 4S and back? Does the fact that the iPad is an LTE plan versus iPhone HSPA+ plan matter?

It will work just fine for data, just remember, you won't have a voice plan attached.
