Hi, I'm new to the forum so please bare with me.
I swapped out my optical drive with my HDD, and installed my SSD as a boot drive. No problem.
I have Mac OSX Mountain Lion installed on my boot drive (ssd) and have transported all my applications there. But I have some questions.
How do I go about making my HDD a data drive? Should I keep OSX installed on it?
I want my applications and virtual machines on my SSD, but I want all the music/photos/movies/documents/application downloads etc on my HDD. I have tried pointing applications like iTunes to my HDD but it wont sync with the music folder claiming it is read only.
Basically I want only essentials on my SSD, and everything else on my HDD.
Also is it possible to use Time Machine on my HDD along with my SSD as one back up? I have an external 500GB drive I use as a Time Machine and up to now it backed up my old HDD. I want to back up everything on both drives when it hooks up, any suggestions?
Thanks!
