swapping early 2011 board with a mid 2009 ?

I have a mbp 15" early 2011 which the video card stopped working so the board on that is useless.

I have a map 15" mid 2009 with a messed up screen, so I was thinking of putting the 2009 board w/ specs into the 2011 early case.

do you think it will all fit n work?

I'm pretty sure you'll run into some problems with connectors/cables and their configuration being pretty different.

why not just disable the dedicated AMD card.. ?
your mac will continue to run fine, on the intel HD3000 graphics inside the cpu.

The HD3000 will also be faster or similiar with the graphics of an 09 15" mbp.
I dont see the reason to change logic boards.

And also the 09 logic board swap wont work, lots of connections wont work and are different..

If it will work in the older machine I would think a screen swap would be the easier idea.

A 2012 board swap will work (but cost more).
