I am about to purchase an iPhone 5 and currently have an iPhone 4 and would like to preserve the data on the current iPhone 4.

I've heard about how you can restore your phone state completely using iCloud's backup option. How does this work?

Does it fully restore what you have on the iPhone 4 onto the iPhone 5?

Thanks in advance.

When I got my 5, I restored it from a recent 4S backup to the cloud and it worked great! If I were you I would go into iTunes and make a back up of your 4S, too! I always do, just in case.
