Swapping iMac G4 boards: Will a motherboard of a 20" fit and run into a 17"?

Hello all!

Due my 20" iMac G4 Frankenstein mod I have left a working motherboard which I thought to fit into a 17" late series (who had 1GHz) to increase CPU speed and maybe also improve workflow. Is this possible or does this not work due other connectors for display, PSU etc.? I saw the output connectors on the back side are the same and both also support and have USB 2.

Physically it should fit. You'd need to check TMDS and PSU connectors and pinouts before trying and rewire these if needed. Dremel Junkie's blog is the best source of knowledge in this matter.

Thanks, I'll have a look. What especially should I pay attention to? Only TMDS and PSU?
