I hope this is the right place to post this. I recently shattered the screen on my iphone 5s (including the back glass both up by the camera and at the bottom. My wife has a bricked 5S from water damage, in great condition which I was going to pull the front screen from. My question is, could I just pull my logic board, and finger print reader and swap it into her phone (I would also put in a new battery)?? Or would I need to pull everything else out of my phone as well and swap it into hers? I have the tools and hardware experience to do the work myself, just wasn't sure what I needed to swap to make sure there were no hardware incompatibility errors.

I hope this isn't a repost of some kind, I wasn't able to find anything 5s specific.

Yes, in theory only the logic board and the home button is needed. The rest can be replaced.

The only problem could be that there's more water damage to your wife's from than just the logic board. But it makes sense to try it.

awesome thanks for the quick reply. I know there is the possibility of more damage, and may just swap everything out of mine into hers, just wanted to avoid any hardware comparability issues.

Just the board and Home Button. The less you swap, the less chances you have of damaging a flex or component. That said, the host device is water damaged so it may have some damaged or failed components (camera, sensor etc).
