swapping phone without updates

My wife's phone is at 11.1.1 and mine is at 11.2.5. I want to swap my phone for her phone. if I download my icloud backup to her phone, would it automatically update iOS to 11.2.5? if so, how do I prevent it from updating?

Can I still backup ssh blob 11.1.1?

I just did this today. You just need to manually install everything from yours to hers. I used AT&T mobile share. I think that was what it was called.

so I can't restore my cloud backup on my wife's phone? I have to manually install apps and settings?

should I reset my wife's phone first? or it would upgrade if I reset?

Right if you restore your iCloud backup it will automatically install it to the newest software. Trust me it will definitely update the phone. It’s not that hard to manually put everything over I’ve done it twice takes about 20-30 mins. You will lose your iMessages tho.
