Swapping screen assemblies between 2008 and 2009 MacBook Pro's?

Hi guys,

I was wondering whether you could take a Mid 2009 15" Low-Res Antiglare display and put it on a Late 2008 15" MacBook Pro? I know that the reed-switch doesn't work but I never sleep my computers by shutting the lid only.

Would the cables reach on the Late 2008 15?
