I got an used C2Duo Mini off a friend whose sole purpose is to run as a lossless music server to stream audio to a hifi system, it's about time to swap the spinning HDD for an SSD not just for speed purposes, which is almost irrilevant, but for noise, no need for ultrafast stuff, while ago got a Crucial MX500 which I installed at a friend's old MBPro and it worked flawlessly for almost 60 euros, would like to hear from you experienced guys if there is any better solution price wise to remain in the 500GB realm.

Grazie

SSD prices seem to be coming down quite a bit at the moment. You can get a 500GB for around 45 euros if you hold out for a deal. Currently this 480GB is €50, that’s pretty good. I’ve used Sandisk or Crucial in all of my computers, any major brand like that will be fine and you won’t get much cheaper unless you wait a few months for prices to come down more.

Same item on Italian Amazon goes for 62 euros, so strange, we must be actually richer than Germans...

So far I think one is worth the other, for such old machine not even worth spending an euro more than the minimum.

Thanks for your hint

I put (a actually a repair shop put) a Samsung 500 GB SSD in my 2010 mini and it completely transformed it. Very usable and plenty fast for casual stuff. Running El Capitan
