I have a 2014 Air and a 2014 Pro. The Ssd's are backwards in my opinion.... I have 256 in the air and 128 in the pro. It would be better to have them opposite so I can use more space on the pro. I know I need to format both and swap them, then reload. My question is what way would be best? Log in safe mode and wipe them on each computer then switch and restore from iCloud? .......Or switch them and then log in safe mode, wipe, and reload from iCloud?

They are both identical information as nothing gets stored on them aside of what is in the cloud, but I know the computer settings will be incorrect and need formatted. I don't believe I could get them running with PRAM and NVRAM reset and no formatting.

No formatting is needed. MacOS isn't Windows. Installations are portable. You can simply move an installation from one compatible computer to another. It'll load whatever drivers are needed for the computer during boot.

The only issue may be purchased software needing to be re-activated or re-installed as your machine ID won't match.

Oh, I thought the power management may be an issue. (and preference files such as resolutions, etc).

Thanks!

EDIT: I had to do PRAM on both to get my boot times back and change a few windows that were opening in the wrong size, but all went well and easily.
