Two main new features: Trailers and Reviews. One thing to note, I just checked a couple trailers and they are actually pretty decent looking over 3G, not that crappy youtube and MLB at Bat non-wifi quality.

Smaller features: Sort by Release. Now shows the rating (R, PG-13) and run time under tile. Not sure if it was there before, but viewing a Theater still shows rotten tomatoes rating , run time and rating with all the movies. You can now favorite theaters to be at the top of the list, both when viewing by movie or theaters section. That way when you load up a film, the theater you usually go to is listed first.

I think all they need is an opening this Friday section.

No UK support yet.

It's in the UK store but if you click it then it says "not available in this country" or something like that.

An amazing update, it also fixed the major problem when the app would crash whenever I would open up a movie's info an scroll down.

LOVE the update!!

You can now also choose a Rotten Tomatoes score OR Metacritic score, which is great. I prefer Metacritic scores, as they seem to be more accurate (generally lower, overall, I've noticed).

btw, the author of BoxOffice (soon to be renamed to "Now Playing" I think due to copyright stuff) has a thread over at the MacAch on arstechnica if you want to give him feedback and feature requests. It's also nice to see what's coming down the line...

Personally I like Showtimes better. It uses GPS to find the closest theater to you. A must in my opinion. Have they added that feature to BoxOffice yet or do you still have to enter in a zipcode like you're using a cell phone from last decade?

It lets you choose whether to use GPS or a zip code, which I prefer.

And my crashing problem was solved with a delete and reinstall, so I'm happy with it now.

Movies has a more complete listing of theaters in my area than does Box Office. I prefer the way Box Office works, but not its omission of two of six theaters.

I only wish Fandango Mobile was intergrated in the app instead of jumping to safari....anyone want to reccomend that in the other forum who is a member?

Seems to be gone.

Maybe it has something to do with the possible name change someone mentioned. Still, even with the suggested new name, "Now Playing," it's not there yet I guess.

I wonder why it was pulled? Weird.

I have version 1.2 and it seems to be working very well.

Agreed, I did the update on it the other day and I haven't experienced any problems with using it.. one of the new releases doesn't have any trailer, but it's not that big of a deal..

There was talk about how the name of the app may have been violating somebody's copyright, so maybe the copyright caught up to them in the app store before they were able to change it. That would be my guess.
