How the hell do I do this??? I seen my co-worker do it and I can not figure out how to do this to save my life!!! I have a ip5 black 64g on ios6

Maybe he's using the chrome web browser. I know from using it that you're able to do that. If its safari he's using, then I have no idea.

yup. probably chrome.

better question: can you set chrome as the default web browser without jailbreak? I like using chrome more, but when I click links in emails/elsewhere, it still goes to safari.

^ Unfortunately you cannot change the default browser in the stock OS. Some apps (Gmail for example) do have the ability to open links in Chrome, however.
