I just purchased a Netgear GS608 8 port switch and this is my current setup:
Modem -> Switch: Xbox 360, PowerMac G5, and to open ended cables for future expansion.
I also have a DLink DGL-4300 Wireless Router attached to the switch with a 75 foot ethernet Cat6 cable(It's in another room)
The DGL-4300 router: Dell Desktop(Wired), iMac G5(Wireless)
I have got the internet to work on my PM G5 which is connected directly to the switch, yet my Xbox 360, which is also connected directly to the switch, cannot get the DNS right, I also had to manually put in an IP address, it could not automatically assign it. The router I connected also doesn't give off wireless internet.
I'm confused that my PM G5 is the only compputer that gets internet. How can I just get internet to my Xbox 360 and all the other computers?
