Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to switch off the data connection for 3G and 2G or at least just 2G - on iOS8 natively or using some sort of network profile? have no plans to jailbreak my phone but just out of curiosity is this possible with a jailbroken iPhone?
I don't mean switch of GSM for phone calls and SMS but I mean force the phone to only use the 4G modem for mobile data. Too many times my iPhone gets stuck on 2G an 3G data because the signal is stronger / penetrates walls better and stays connected to that in my pocket. If I get the phone out my pocket and load a website, it's only half way through loading on 2G that the phone realises there is a 4G signal it can use.
I had the same thing years ago with the iPhone 4 not using 3G because 2G (900MHz) is stronger than 3G in the UK (2.1GHz) - at least until o2 started deploying 3G on 900MHz recently.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Jonny
