when 1.1.2 released they said one is able to switch off edge. but i haven't seen any option to do that at all. you can only switch off wifi or go into airplane mode but that switches off both.

- is there a way to switch off only at&t edge to be on wifi and no edge appearing?

I don't think that turns off EDGE, only if you are roaming outside the AT&T network.

I'm not sure there is a way to turn off EDGE permanently. Not sure why you would want to, though?

From personal experiance... If you are in Grand Caymon and it says at&t and edge network, so you think it will cost the same. Then you get home and find a $190 bill for data charges, you'll want to turn edge off!

Well, I don't know about that then. I would call AT&T. I thought that is what the data roaming was for? If you are outside your home network, it wouldn't let you use data unless it was wi-fi?

Or, just don't use the data when you travel out of country?
