Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to get clarification as the AT&T Phone Representative wasn't very helpful. I have a iphone 12 that I'd like to use as a trade in, at&t is offering $1000 for it, Apple is offering $1000 for it with an AT&T plan. If I switch from T-mobile to AT&T, will the credit come from Apple or AT&T and would I need to be with AT&T for 36 months or is phone still unlocked?

This would be for a 16 pro max.

Just wondering what my better bet is.

No I don't want to sell it on facebook market place an no I do not want a prepaid MVNO (Visable, Cricket, Boost etc). I will get a $10 discount on the highest tier plan making it $75.99/mo (Currently pay $73 with tmobile unlimited). I know t-mobile has faster internet speeds, but at&t seems to be more reliable.

Thank you.

Phone is locked. Bill credits from att.

Have to stay with them for that long or you pay the remainder value of the full price phone

What @thadoggfather says is true - BUT - when I switched from Verizon to T-Mobile last year, they offered to "buy out" my contract with Verizon (for the 3 phones on my plan). My 3 phones worked out to just about $1,000. I paid off the phones to Verizon out-of-pocket and T-Mobile reimbursed me with a prepaid credit card.

Looks like currently they'll reimburse up to $650 per phone and 2 phones max.
