I have an X through Verizon. Simply put single users seems to get screwed with phone plans and it looks like Xfinity might be the move I need to save $35-40 a month. They use Verizon towers for service so I am hoping itll be similar coverage.

Xfinity is running a deal where you get $250 when buying a new iphone when you switch over. Plus trading in my X for another $400 seems like a bargain. Also being able to save on my bill would be nice.

Anyone switch from any carrier to Xfinity and like it? This $250 deal runs until 9/30

I haven't but was just talking to one of our vendors yesterday about this exactly. He said he did it and didn't notice any difference in cellular coverage/speeds. Verizon service is Verizon service I guess regardless of if you are paying Verizon or Xfinity for it.

I've been thinking about this too, actually. But they don't allow eSIM so it was a no-go for me. Bummer.

I would be interested what your experience was with latency. Early on, Xfinity mobile users were posting speed tests where the ping was very high, as Comcast seemed to be sending data through a VPN or proxy.

It should be similar coverage, but not necessarily the same amount of data, or the same amount of speed. Your speed may get throttled by Verizon. Best to read the fine print.

I looked into them. No tethering or limited speed on tethering I can’t remember which. I’m on att and use tethering fairly often. Plus I get att watch tv free because of my plan, and also showtime. To subscribe to those desperately if I went with xfinity I’m right back to paying what I do now, and still don’t have tethering. Not worth it in my situation.

I've used Xfinity, and to be honest, their customer service isn't the best (who's really is though?). There really isn't a difference in speed or coverage, but I've been told by Verizon that you don't get the same roaming coverage as you would with them. Whether that is true or not, who knows. Xfinity is certainly cheaper than Verizon, by a longshot.

Yes, no difference in coverage and speeds have been mid 20s to 50s in some cases. Plenty for everyone. Stop paying Verizon fees.

I've heard good things. If if it just you on your plan, prepaid is always the way to go. While you get zero customer service, it is always cheaper than the postpaid with the big 4.

The problem is parents are not setting limits with their kids and phones. Unless your kids are help paying the bill take them off unlimited. This will help the cost. I mean parents with two kids with everyone on unlimited are prob paying over 250 on Verizon

I've dealt with Xfinity for cable and internet, and they are absolutely diabolical. For example, we were paying for their fastest internet service, but were only getting 30Mbps speeds. I called their customer service and they first told me I needed a new modem, so I paid $130 for that. Didn't make a difference. Then they tried to tell me it was my router (which I knew it wasn't). Then they tried to tell me it was my computer's network card (which I knew it wasn't). Then they told me they could send out somebody to look into it, but they would have to charge me for it, so I just said forget it. Fast forward 6 months, we had an Xfinity guy over to setup the phone service, and he just happened to mention in passing, that they hadn't yet updated the infrastructure in our area to support speeds beyond 30Mbps... of course, that didn't stop them from selling me their fastest package.

and that's just one of many, many issues I've had with them over the years.

Point being, I'd do my homework before switching to them for anything (mark my words, you don't get voted worst / most hated company in America for nothing)...

Oh wow that sucks. I only have them for internet and cell phone and never really had an issue. Service isn't always the best as our store is always swapped. I pay for 50 and actually get 60.
