Coming from 11 Pro (800 nits), the lower brightness of 12 (650 nits) felt to dim in bright areas.

Also the display on Pro seems to be more responsive. Placebo or not but I find it quite a obvious improvement.

I’m a case less person and the Pro is just so much easier to grip.

But I really miss the lower weight of the regular 12. Bummer

anyone else switched from regular to pro and why?

Yeah I’ve gone back and forth. Really like the lower weight of the 12, but really want the telephoto and camera updates of the pro, plus the added RAM.
On the fence on which model to keep.

I’d just keep the Pro, tbh. The camera system is way more versatile, the extra RAM is great and the difference in screen brightness is noticeable. Unless you absolutely want the lightest possible phone, I’d always go Pro.

That’s what I’m leaning towards. Getting a Pitaka air case in a few days and hoping that will alleviate my fear of damaging the phone while adding minimal bulk.

I think part of it is the weight distribution, too. The 12 pro feels a little too heavy, whereas the 11 pro felt more balanced and compact.

So I’m returning my pro for the regular 12. The weight plus the new design hurts my wrist and it cut into my pinky skin. I got the 12 for my family and the lightness makes for a much nicer user experience.

I do photography, but won’t be pursuing gigs until 2022. If I want to add a Pro iPhone to my set of camera’s, I’ll wait til the 13 Pro when it’s lighter or when the 12 Pro Max sensor is built into the 6.1 Pro. For now, the 12 is the ultimate consumer phone in 2020/2021.

Imagine this: The 11 Pro did just fine with A13/4GB RAM. A14/4GB will be more than sufficient for the 12 lol. The brightness isn’t much of a difference for me personally.

Yeah I think 4GB is fine. I do get annoyed when apps have to reload after taking a picture. This happens more so on the 12 than the 12 pro. The pro has done a great job keeping things in memory so far. Just wish it was lighter!
