switching between different windows in Word - can't get the short cut to work

So, my understanding is that I should be able to use cmd+' (that button to the left of the number 1) to switch between windows in Word 2011, but I can't make the short cut work. I think I messed it up because I manually specified this as a short cut to switch between full screen and regular view in the settings. Now, I have deleted that short cut but I still can't use this to switch between windows. Does anyone know how I can fix this (and, if there are any standard short cuts for switching between regular view and full screen view)??
