My HomePods are set as default speakers, but sometimes I need to switch audio output to my tv speakers. Two bugs when I try to do this:

(1) the TV speakers option doesn’t show up in the control center audio output devices list, unless I first switch to another audio output device, then switch back to the Apple TV default output (homepods). TV speaker then shows up in the list and weirdly shows up already selected as the audio output even though I actually selected the ATV default output. If I happen to then select the ATV default output or any other audio output device, the TV speakers option disappears again.

2) after I finish using my TV speakers and switch back to Apple TV default output (homepods), instead of all audio only coming through the HomePods as it should, the system sounds continue coming through only the tv speakers, not the homepods. To rectify this I have to go into settings and reset the default audio output by switching it to TV speakers then back again to homepods.

Anyone else running into these issues? I just reported them to Apple.
