Carrier Switching carriers and going to IUP?

My wife and I currently have a 2-line unlimited plan with T-Mobile. We bought our 7 Plus and 6S Plus outright. The plan rate is great, unfortunately T-Mobile’s signal sucks in our city.

I’m looking at switching to Verizon. I’m also interested in joining Apples iPhone Upgrade Program. Any advice on the most economical way to make the jump?
