I want to order from apple.com so I can get applecare+. I need to set up a new contract because i'm swiching carriers. Can all of this be done on apple's website while preordering?

I just checked Verizon's site as if I was going to upgrade my phone to an iPhone 4 and AppleCare was available when it asks you to pick accessories. I'm assuming once the 4S is available for pre-order they will also add AppleCare+ so maybe AT&T/Sprint are doing this too.

Yes. If you port your number, they will automatically cancel your old service for you.

You don't have to order from the Apple site to get applecare. You have 12 months from date of purchase to get applecare.

I don't think that's how appelcare+ works. I thought you have to purchase it at the same time you purchase your phone.
