I'm seriously shocked no one else is doing this... I can't find anything on it here on the forum.
Anyone know if I can start a new AT&T account from the apple site? Or should I just preorder straight from AT&T's site? I've heard horror stories of ordering from carrier sites...

I don't think you can sign up for AT&T online during preorders. I could be completely wrong, but I think you have to have a pre-existing account to order an AT&T phone. If you're down to pay full price, you could just order the T-Mobile one since it's unlocked and doesn't require any carrier details.
Yeah, tried to set up an account with AT&T earlier but they wouldn't let me...
told me I needed to have a device first... ugh.
That blows. Maybe you'll be able to walk into a store on launch day and snag yourself a couple phones. One of my relatives did that on launch day last year and they got exactly what they wanted and there wasn't even a line.
Sounds like AT&T's site is up. Your only option right now is to go through AT&T in some form or another since Apple won't open an account for you. Maybe hop on their website and see if you're able to open an account with a couple 6s's
Got them ordered through AT&T preorder with overnight shipping for the 25th. We'll see if that actually happens...
