Hi,

I don't yet have another image software on my iMac so anything I am doing right now is in pages. Is there a way to take the colour images and convert them to grayscale. I tried the ColourSync through the print file and it made my poster very grainy and blurry.

The poster is primarily in grayscale but some images are not. I would like to change them into grayscale so I can preview what it will look like without wasting ink.

Thanks,
Mary

I can do that for the photos I have but some of these are images on a colour poster I was sent which I am now trying to make into a grayscale poster. How do I put the images into iPhoto?
Yes, I do have permission to change the original poster.

Thanks,
Mary

I don't have iWork so I'm just winging it...can you drag and drop the image to the iPhoto icon so iPhoto imports it? Can you drag and drop the image to your desktop and then import it with iPhoto? Do you get any kind of contextual menu option for editing in iPhoto by control clicking on the image? Can you use the built-in image controls in Pages to "tweak" the images to B&W? Lastly does your printer's print dialog have an option for B&W or greyscale printing? Hope this helps.

I think this will work...

I just looked at iWeb '08, figuring Apple probably used a similar setup in Pages, so hopefully this will work for you...

Click on the image so it gets the little handles.
Click on the Adjust icon.
Slide the Saturation slider all the way to the left.
Close the Adjust window.

Voila! B&W image.

If you need to go back to the color image:

Click on the image so it gets the little handles.
Click on the Adjust icon.
Click the Reset Image button.
Close the Adjust window.

Voila! color image.

I think this will work for you, but to be safe you probably should copy the file before trying any of this to make sure you don't loose the original.
