Switching from 3GS to 4s - micro Sim

So I'm going to be switching from an iPhone 3GS to a 4s on at@t. I was wondering if it will come with the micro sim in the phone or if I will née to go down to AT&T to get one. If I do need to go to at&t can I go before friday?
 
When I upgraded from my 3GS to a 4, it came with the Sim. You will have to turn off your 3GS (not sleep mode, total power off) before you turn on your 4s, and the 4s should activate OTA.

I bought it from apple. Will that make a difference?

Nope, just turn off your old phone then power up the 4S when it comes in the mail and you'll be good to go.
 
A micro sim is pre-installed. As soon as you activate your 4S AT&T will deacticate the sim in the 3GS.
