I have a Nike S2 and am considering the jump to an S3, primarily for the sapphire screen as mine is starting to get scratched up. Since I'm going to go with the Stainless model I don't really have a choice but to get cellular, but not sure yet if I'll actually activate it or not.

One issue I currently have is that the handoff from the watch to the phone doesn't always seem seamless. For example I have "TheScore" app as one of my complications - halfway through a game when I know there is a score it'll still show me the pre-game info, I'll click on it to open it and it'll come up with a message to log in on my phone. I go to my phone and I'm already logged in. If I restart the watch it comes on just fine. If I understand how it works (and theres a good chance I dont!), the S2 watch doesn't connect directly to wireless, it connects to the phone and shares it wifi connection, so I guess I'm asking does the S3 work the same way or can it connect directly to Wifi (if LTE is not enabled)?

Its not limited to this app, I've experienced it with a few 3rd party apps (ESPN, Yahoo Sports). Since this has started I've since replaced my phone (not for this reason) and did a full wipe and set up the watch as new (for this reason) and still experience it at times.

I don't know if any of the sports apps I use on the watch are LTE compatible (yet) so I may not get an LTE update anyway if I did decide to activate LTE.

Also - completely unrelated to the wireless issue - I've seen that the S3 will track stairs, is that through the Activity screen where you see the total steps or would it be limited to somewhere else.
