HomePod switching homepod mini from apple TV to iphone

I want to play netflix through my apple tv to my homepod mini, but when I go to bed I want to play apple music through my phone to my homepod mini.

What is the best way to switch between the two? Can I do it like a bluetooth speaker or do I have to go in manually and switch the Airplay status every time?

Note, I am not an Apple Music subscriber, I just load my MP3's on to it from my Mac.

I am also getting this warning every time I try to switch from the tv to my iphone.
