Switching iPhone from PC to Mac

Hi I used my mom's PC with Vista to activate my iPhone. I am getting a new MBP soon and have a question. If I connect my iPhone to my new MBP will I need to restore my iPhone? Can someone who has switched their iPhone from a PC to a Mac give me any advice or info on the experience.
