Will it hurt anything to pull the video cable(to a CRT monitor, VGA connection) right out of the video card then connect the monitor to an ibook for extra space for working on the ibook without shutting either of the computers down? btw...I'll turn the monitor off:rolleyes:

URGENT! I don't want to hurt either the computer(s) or the monitor

You shouldn't have any problem pulling it right out of the video card, just be careful with those pins. If an essential one gets broken, you just fried your monitor. (Trust, me. I did this once and could find no one to fix it. Luckily they were just shortened a bit and with a little jiggling it worked fine. Whew!) Just make sure you turn the monitor off like you said. I've done this many times and have had no problems. :)
