switching my 3Gs for mums iPhone4

my mum's just got an iPhone 4 with the intention of switching phones with me. we're both on the same network so am i right in thinking all that needs to be done is to cut down my 3Gs SIM to fit the iPhone4 and buy an adapter for my mums mini SIM to use in my 3gs?
