Long story short, since I couldn't purchase a 6s plus thru Verizon at the 2 yr contract discount on MY line, I went ahead and did so on my father's (we are under the same account) line thru Apple, since he is eligible for the upgrade and not me. Can anyone tell me if I will still be able to activate the 6s on MY line when it arrives, or will it be locked to his phone number?

TL;DR: I have two lines on my account. Line 1 has an upgrade, Line 2 doesn't. I ordered a shiny new 6s Plus on Line 1 with the upgrade discount (2 yr contract). When I receive the phone, can I then choose to activate it on Line 2??

I did his last year. Upgraded my iPad to a 6+. When it came I took the sim out of my iPhone 5S and put it in the 6+ and it worked. Even updated on Verizon's system. No penalties or any crap. It's totally fine.
