Switching phones with Sprint and iMessage?

I am receiving a Google Pixel XL and curious can I switch between phones with Sprint and my iPhone back and forth and keep my iMessage account "Active" or whatever assuming i have my sim in my iPhone? I am just curious because my iPhone will be my daily driver still because of iMessage.
