On the MBP forum I was advised that an MBP is overkill for what I need and save my money.

With MB, do you think this is sufficient, or should I up the memory now...?

* 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
* 250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
* SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

Any advice on timing? Wait till after WWDC?

Thanks. I will be doing writing, graphics for greeting cards, and internet surfing... maybe a game, but nothing extravagant

yeah u should be good to go. Mm WWDC won't announce a macbook im sure but deff. they'll have one later this year. If you want aluminum then wait unless your comfortable with the polycarborate

definitely wait until after WWDC but in all honestly MB's and MBP's probably won't see upgrades until back-to-school is over :(. Nevertheless, the MB's a solid configuration so i wouldn't worry about it.
