First sorry if this topic is well-covered elsewhere, just point me the way but I couldn't figure out what topics to search for).

My MacBook Pro from around 2009 is on its last legs, lots of quirky crap going on all the time, ports that don't connect etc. So I'm buying a new one and what I am wondering is what the most seamless and non-costly way is to have the software I've purchased on the new unit. This includes Office for Mac 2011, Adobe Acrobat Pr 9, and a few less costly ones like Pixelmator and misc. utilities.

I've heard that if you remove the proprietary software from the old machine, you can then freely re-install but I haven't any idea how to do that. So, again, if there's a good place to get instructions on this, I'd appreciate hearing where.

Thanks.
