I'm on AT&T's no-contract Mobile Share Value plan by myself. I'm thinking of switching to Verizon tonight for my iPhone 6 pre-order.

If I go with Verizon and choose the single line plan, I'm assuming they will assign me a new number, but I can just port my current number over to Verizon once I receive my phone and my AT&T service will be automatically cancelled?

I had a similar thread...EDIT here it is. Yes you can order a Verizon iPhone and then port your number over after you've received and activated it as long as your contract is up yet your AT&T account is still active.

HOWEVER, I did a mock order through Apple's site of an iP5S and the only Verizon plans offered were the shared plans, not the single plan. I think you might have to order through VW's site for that. I'd prefer the single line acct so if anyone knows different, that would help.
