I just got a new Mac, allowing me to move beyond macOS Monterey. In Monterey, and earlier versions, you could switch users from the lock screen. I cannot figure out how to do this in Tahoe, and it looks like this may have changed in Sonoma. Are there solutions to this?

This annoys me greatly. For some reason Apple thought it'd be okay to hide all the other users on the lock screen. When on the lock screen, you can press ESC to have it bring back the user list. You cannot type the first letter anymore either, you have to use arrow keys.

Just making the experience worse for users for no benefit.

Unfortunately, pressing ESC does not work for me either.

Specifically, I have this issue when I lock the computer using command+shift+Q or if the computer sleeps. I then get a lock screen that I cannot figure out how to change users from.

If I get the Login Window, via Fast Switch - Login Window..., either procedure @Bigwaff or @!!! recommended will work.

Click on the user icon. If there is more than one user, it will expand and show the others.
Don't click on it. That selects it. Hover over it to expand the choices.

But since you say that doesn't work (neither does ESC), I suspect you need to check this setting.

That is exactly how mine is set, but still only see the user that locked the machine or that was logged in when the computer went to sleep.

Updating to 26.0.1 did not fix it either. Here is a picture of the lock screen. View attachment 2561267
This is what I encounter after update to the latest update. All along I put to sleep mode when wake up just press enter. After today updated the latest 26.01 , I need to key in password to access after wakeup but I noticed if I choose to sleep mode go click that sleep option under the Apple icon at the left corner where by you also can shut down. I noticed no need to key in password when wake up the imaC.
