Hi all, I have a 42in LG Oled which is great apart from the hight when using it as monitor.

I was wondering if it would be possible using SwitchResx to create 3840×1600 custom mode with black bars at the top and bottom of the screen to give the impression of an Ultrawide display. Has anyone with experience of this program managed to do this.

Going back a few years ago I could make same custom resolution using an Nvidia card running on win 10.

I think you would create an arbitrary mode and hope that the TV would add the black bars for you using a 1:1 non-stretch mode.

Thanks for advice. After purchasing SwitchResX I was able to create a couple of custom screens to get the effect I was looking for, 7680 x 3200 (21:9 aspect ratio) and 7680 x 3600 (22:10 aspect ratio) which are scaled down to 3840 x 1600 and 3840 x 1800.
