i have a 13 inch white macbook.

battery is swollen. so swollen it just falls out if its not sitting.

took it to apple and im past warranty and dont have apple care so i have to pay.

any recommendations on where to get an apple brand battery for cheaper than 129$?

did but there all knock offs and i read some of them dont fit flush properly.

i was able to get my battery replaced out of warranty. i purchased it in oct 2008, and replaced battery june 2010, about 8 months out of warranty.

it is really up to the discretion of the apple store. i took it into the store first in february, and a second time in may, and had the same guy both times tell me he wouldn't replace it. then a third time in june, i talked to a different apple genius and mentioned that the battery had swollen to the point where it was difficult to open/close the latch and the trackpad was having trouble clicking. he immediately offered a replacement, no questions asked

it seems that your battery has to be defective to a certain point for them to replace it. try to stress and emphasize the problems
