Is there a way to get my very populated iCal into Entourage. I tried doing the sync but it only brought over my contacts no events. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how?

Tried it...didn't work

been searching the internet for this but nothing has worked. I can get Entourage info into iCal, but not vice versa...very frustrating.

Yea it is. Thanks for the reply, at least I know I'm not alone. One quick question though. When you sync from entourage to ical can you set it up to do it automatically or do you have to manually tell it to do it every time?

not sure

i think it's done automatically, however, there probably is a lag. I see a little "schedule" note in the lower right hand corner of entourage that refreshes like every 10 minutes.

I believe this is the answer you are looking for

I have found that I really like to use the entourage lately; however, because I really need to use mobileme in an effort to sync my iphone to laptop and desk top I'm stuck using the ical ( which is overall a good systems). In my efforts in trying to sync the ical to entourage I finally found the answer and it work well in imputing all ical data into entourage but it must be done manually. this is the article

It will input all the ical data to entourage quite well.

Unless something has changed you should be able to do this in sync services within Entourage. You can choose to sync contacts, calendar, and/or tasks (I believe--it's been a few months). Choose one-way sync to entourage and it should sync everything over.

Just wait a few more months...

According to AppleInsider, Mac OS 10.6 will have iCal with entourage syncing. It was published earlier today. As one I school with the rest of the staff using windoze, I know it can be very frustrating at times.

I still have to laugh at there weekly updates to "fix" their systems. LOL.

Solution was always there

Entourage supports multiple calendars and multiple categories. iCal only supports multiple calendars and has no equivalent for categories at this point. Entourage only syncs *one* calendar and matches it one-to-one to a calendar in iCal (called Entourage). In order to see events created in iCal in Entourage, you'll have to assign these iCal events to the "Entourage" calendar that shows up in iCal itself.

You may have to export an existing calendar and reimport under the entourage calendar if that's what you want to do.
