I'm going to be away this summer for a summer job. I have an imac and an air. My iphone syncs to the imac because that's where all the media is, but I won't be able to bring my imac with me this summer.

So, does anyone know of a way I can sync my iphone over the internet to the imac if I keep it running as a server or something? Can I "forward" a usb connection over ssh or vnc or something? Or is there a simpler solution?

Thanks so much!

Are you taking the Air with you?

If so, copy the relevant iTunes folders over to the Air and sync with that.

Then when you get back, copy it all back and carry on syncing the the iMac.

The short, but complete, answer is no. You can always sync to the air. If not, then you have icloud at least.
