hi,

how do i unsync some songs frm my ipod touch?

and

what should i do if i only want to sync some of selected albums n songs and not the rest to the ipod touch? (due to limited memory)

thanks :D

The most simple way to do it is to use playlists and smart playlists.

For example, create a smart playlist with all songs with at least three stars, another one with all blues songs, and another one with all songs added in the last five weeks.

Then plug-in the iPod and select the playlists you want in the Music tab.

The smart playlists will be updated automatically each time you sync the iPod.

On the long run, it will save you lots of time.

how do u unsync songs?

i am fine with that album in my library but i do not want to see it in the ipod. how do i remove it?

Connect your Touch and open iTunes. Select your iPod under Devices on the left and then the Summary Tab at the top. Check "Manually Manage Music and Videos" on the Summary page and then on the bottom left press ok to save settings.
Select the music folder under your iPod on the left and then select all the files you want to remove from your iPod, right click and select "Delete".

huh?! i can't remove it? i click manually select, but theres no music tab under my ipod.

are you sure that applies for ipod touch?

okay.

my current situation is ..

i want a certain song/album to remain in my itunes library, but it is also ticked.

how do i unsync that certain song/album from my ipod? without unticking it?

i've tried the above method, but i cant find no music tab under my ipod i can access it?

There will be no 'Music' tab. Instead, look on the left hand side of iTunes where all your playlists and your iPod are shown, click the arrow next to your iPod until 'Music' appears directly underneath it, select it, then you can select any song you want to remove from your iPod, then press 'delete'. It will still be in your iTunes library, just not on your iPod, and you can readd it by dragging and dropping it onto your iPod at any time.

And of course it applies for the iPod touch, I've been doing it with every iPod I've owned for ages.

EDIT: Just beaten by tadad1 :p

but but but. if i have new songs/albums inside. must i manually put it in?

so if i dun do it manually, i will sync in my unwanted songs as well right?

All you have to do is select the new tracks that you want to add to your iPod (if you don't know how to, press Ctrl while selecting the songs to select more than one if you use Windows; if you're using a Mac hold down Command instead), then drag them onto your iPod in the list on the left-hand side.

hmm. but the issue is.

1. Smart Playlist
Do it have to be the same genre, or?

EDIT: I don't want the smart playlist to show up in the ipod as well :(

2. Sync Manually
I would not be sync-ing music to my ipod immediately if i added the tracks. and sometimes i would add different tracks and not albums. so i would lose track of what to add.
