I've been tasked with synchronising a friends music library across multiple locations, his house, his GF house and his barge, why i said I could do it i'm not sure, as i feel it should be relatively simple. But, on investigation i'm not sure i'm taking the easiest or cheapest route, and would appreciate some input.
He has a Sonos in each location, which can read any NAS or drive on a network and find music files, great!
So i hooked in his Time Machine, set up a folder they can drop music files into and the Sonos detects them. I figured I could do this throughout the three locations and somehow sync the TM's using a chronosync or MobileMe somehow.
This would require a lot of foolery, and a mac at each location probably, so what about cutting the TM out and using a Mac Mini in each location and using MM with a virtual iDisk? Great, but only 20 gigs, not enough.
Has anyone done anything similar with success? Or can anyone make any suggestions?
TIA
Brodie
