I used to be able to carry my old iTunes library on an external Hard Drive in order to sync my iPod (yep I'm one of those who uses an iPod classic). However since updating to Sonoma on both my M1 iMac and M1 Pro 14 inch MBP I'm no longer able to do so. I notice albums missing and album art missing when I add music for exemple on my iMac which is connected to a Thunderbolt SSD which contains my music library in ALAC. When I connect the same drive to my MBP and launch Music by selecting the Library that lives inside the external SSD, I notice a lot of inconsistencies like not all albums that I added on my iMac etc.

Any ideas? Has anything major changed when Apple killed iTunes?

Thank you :)

Do you have media which was purchased from the iTunes store? If so, check the Account settings in the Music.app menu bar. Make sure the app is logged in with the same user-id on both computers, that both computers are authorized, and that each computer is connected to the internet while you're using Music.app.
