I have three Macs, two desktops in different offices and a portable that I use on travel. Each are backed up and linked through my dotmac account. That works well when I want to access a file on one of the machines I am not at, as long as they are up and running and on a network.

I need one more failsafe: when I am on travel and do not have access to a network. I'd like to be able to set up a portable HD on one of my machines, have each mac sync its documents folder to that HD while connected to the network, then I would just unplug and carry the drive with me.

is there a software package that would allow for this, or even something native to the Mac OS or dotmac?

thanks
