Synced Contacts and "Groups"

Suddenly my iPhone has divided my contacts into two groups - one from My Mac and one from MobileMe. So most of my contacts are shown duplicated if I choose "All Contacts" in Groups but some are not.

What the heck?!? I thought the whole point of syncing was to have one unified set of contacts that will be the same on my phone, my laptop, and on MobileMe. What have I done wrong?

Help please!
