iPhone 3GS, iOS4.1, iTunes10, Vista

I have converted movies to mp4 and they have worked before, but today when I made some new ones the synced movies do not show in my iPhone. So I cleared some of the older ones already on the phone and re-added them and now they are not showing up either. I manually add them and they play in iTunes as well as when I play them in iTunes from the movie list in my phone, but nothing after the sync.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not all mp4 files will transfer to the iPhone. You may have to convert them to iPhone format in iTunes.

Advanced>Create iPod or iPhone Version

No dice. I converted a file through iTunes and it shows it synced, but does not show in the movies section of my iPhone. I Read online that Apple's 4.1 update may be to blame. That you can only sync videos that you buy off iTunes. Any validity to this claim?

Not true. I encode movies using Handbrake all the time and I'm running iOS 4.1 and it syncs no problem. One way to be sure, especially if it worked before, is to restore your iPhone and start fresh. Make sure you sync all your data to your computer first. Then restore as new. This ensures whatever issue is occurring, if it is software related, it doesn't get put back on your iPhone.

I am not entirely sure what I did, but it all works. I read another similar problem online to click the manually add music and movies in the summary section while connected to iTunes and it was not selected. I alway manually manage the music and movies on my iPhone, but I checked it (giving mw warnings that the playlists and movies already stored on my iPhone would e removed) but did it anyway and all the movie I converted and downloaded all sync, show and play!

Thanks to all that helped!
