Synced phone, now progress on Angry Birds is gone

All I did was sync my phone. Now my progress is gone. Isn't there a way to save progress within the game so this won't happen next time?
I have in-game purchases and notifications blocked/off.

Try restoring your iPhone to a recent backup and see if it comes back. As far as saving it "within the game itself" I'm not sure if you mean "while playing the game" or "in the .ipa file". If you mean within the game itself, it already saves progress every time you complete a level, and then iTunes should back that data up when you backup your iPhone. If you mean within the .ipa file, the answer is no, you can't save your game data there. Additionally, this seems to be an iPhone question, so I would think that it belongs in the iPhone forum, not the Mac Applications and Mac App Store forum.
