I synced the same photos I stored on my 3GS and they take up a hell of a lot more room on the iPhone 4. Photos on the 3GS take up 1.4Gb and iPhone 4 2.3GB. Is this due to the new retina display???

gloss macrumors 601 May 9, 2006 4,811 0 around/about Jun 24, 2010 #2 Yeah, it appears 4.0 syncs higher-res versions of the photos to your device. This is a good thing, as far as I'm concerned. I always hated the horrible down-rezzing that earlier iPhones/iPods had to deal with.
