Synching an iPhone photo album to iTunes/iPad

I created a large iPhoto album on my iPhone. When i connect to iTunes, the album does not sync over and there is no option to click to get it to sync. (At least I don't see it.) I'd like to get the album onto my iTunes and then my iPad. I assume there is something that I'm missing . . . .
