synching calendar and contacts

My iPad Air's calendar/contacts is not synching with the iCloud calendar/contacts.

I have the iCloud calendar and contacts synch button on and synching works with the calendars and contacts on my iPhone, iMac and laptop. The iPad is the only machine with a problem.

Any ideas? I'm sure I need to change a setting but I'm not sure which one.

I had to play with my Contact selection boxes on iMac and iCloud to get it too work. But, on my iPhone. Only iPad is my wife's and she doesn't use the cloud. But, never could get iCalendar to sync. Fortunately I don't use them.

Delete the icloud account on the iPad and start again.
